Delve inside the PowerZ approach to gaming and education

The idea for PowerZ was born out of the challenges faced by parents during the 2021 lockdown. Frustrated by the difficulties of homeschooling and the struggle to pull their children away from TV and video games, a group of dads pondered: Could there be an educational game or app as captivating as Fortnite, Animal Crossing, or Super Mario Odyssey? Enter PowerZ, a response to the question of how to create an engaging video game that imparts useful knowledge.

There's no ready-made formula, and that's what makes our mission both challenging and exciting. Balancing the often-contradictory worlds of education and gaming requires communication, attention to details, a deep understanding of both realms, and a passion to create. We're constantly navigating the challenge of ensuring the project's success without compromising on educational content or entertainment value.

Constrained by rigid class structures, traditional education falls short in effectively covering all subjects. PowerZ, taking cues from games like Mario Bros, enthusiastically adopts an active learning approach, ensuring education is enjoyable without the fear of mistakes. The game incorporates a "trial-and-error" method, recognizing its significance in solidifying knowledge and skills. Acknowledging the limits of classroom teaching, PowerZ places a strong emphasis on an awakening phase, aiming to foster curiosity in diverse subjects and guide children to discover their passions in an engaging manner.

Approaching four years, PowerZ is a collaborative hub, uniting fifty minds for a shared mission. Despite its youth, the project embraces continuous learning and growth. To ensure excellence, our Education Board, featuring experts like Célia ROSENTRAUB (Managing Director of the Hatier group), Pascal RUFFENACH (Chairman of the Board of Bayard), Charlotte POUSSIN (Montessori pedagogy expert), Christophe GOMES (Director of the association Agir pour l'École), and Gérald BRONNER (sociologist with a focus on cognitive science), guides our pedagogical approach. This collective effort ensures a well-rounded approach, validated by field experts, marking our commitment to impactful education.
