✨ PowerZ in Senegal: A Journey of Learning, Connection, and Joy

main

When an educational video game crosses borders to support the opening of new schools.

At PowerZ, we believe something simple and powerful:

Every child, no matter where they live, deserves the chance to learn with joy.

Recently, one of our earliest advocates, Romuald - a dedicated school principal from Drancy, France - took that belief on the road in a very special way.

🎮 FROM DRANCY TO SENEGAL: A SHARED DREAM OF EDUCATION

Romuald has been using PowerZ in his school in Drancy, just outside Paris, for several years now.

Each week, his students get to play PowerZ in a structured, supportive classroom environment.

To him, video games are more than fun -

they’re powerful, playful, and accessible tools for learning.

Just last month, Romuald traveled to Senegal with the Yakar Association, helping open several new schools in rural villages.

His mission?

To train teachers and students to use PowerZ as part of their everyday learning experience.

It was a first for the region - and for us!

📱 LEARNING THROUGH PLAY, ANYTIME AND ANYWHERE!

This mission had a clear goal:

To show that PowerZ’s educational approach can work for all kids - in any context.

PowerZ is free, fun, and made for children ages 6 to 12. In Senegal, it gave young students the opportunity to explore a brand-new way of learning — through play.

Romuald led workshops, trained local teachers, and helped install the first tablets loaded with PowerZ in several partner schools.

The kids’ reactions? Bright eyes. Big smiles. Endless curiosity.

⚽ A VERY SPECIAL GUEST: ÉDOUARD MENDY

As if the trip wasn’t already magical, it wrapped up with an unforgettable visit from Édouard Mendy - Senegal’s national hero, 2021 Africa Cup of Nations champion, and one of PowerZ’s very first investors.

Deeply committed to education in his home country, Mendy joined the Yakar team to officially inaugurate the schools.

He met the students, explored the classrooms, and saw PowerZ in action - right alongside the kids.

The joy was off the charts.

And of course, we caught it all on camera.

💡 A MISSION, VALUES, AND A VISION

This journey to Senegal wasn’t a one-time effort.

It represents something much bigger:

Our commitment to inclusion, free access to education, creative learning methods — and our belief that a game really can change a child’s life.

We’re beyond grateful to:

  • Romuald, for his energy, heart, and dedication
  • The Yakar Association, for their trust and incredible work on the ground
  • Édouard Mendy, for supporting education with both heart and action
  • And of course… the kids, for reminding us why we do what we do 💙

🌍 WHAT’S NEXT?

This is only the beginning.

At PowerZ, we’re working every day to bring the joy of learning to more and more children - in France, the U.S., and beyond.

Because knowledge is a right.

And learning should always feel like an adventure!
