Utilizing AI to tailor our education content

In simple terms, our artificial intelligence (AI) analyzes your activity in the game. It anonymously collects real-time data, noting:

What you succeed at,

What challenges you try (even if you don't always succeed),

How fast you make decisions,

When you're sure or unsure.

With this info, the AI adjusts the game's difficulty and creates exercises on the spot to keep you in a zone where things are neither too hard (so you don't get frustrated) nor too easy (so you don't get bored).

This zone is called the ZPD (zone of proximal development) and is at the heart of PowerZ's pedagogical approach.

For example, in mental math, every player starts off with basic 1-digit number addition. Then, based on the AI's analysis, the difficulty level adjusts at varying speeds. It can skyrocket for those breezing through the exercise, or crawl at a snail's pace for those facing challenges. If the AI detects unverified skills, it won't hesitate to dial down the difficulty once more until it is sure the player is ready for more difficulty.

In history, we start with major periods like Prehistory and the Middle Ages. Then, we use these foundational points to navigate through more intricate and specific historical events.

In spelling, we begin with fundamental rules like present tense, plurals, and adjective agreement. As players become more proficient, we introduce exceptions and delve into more complex tenses at their pace.

And so on for all the areas covered or soon to be covered in PowerZ!

Of course, all of this is supervised and fine-tuned daily by our team of educational engineers, experts in education, crafting our educational strategy and content.

Greg, a father of two girls (9 and 13), embarked on the PowerZ adventure to prove that fun and learning can go hand in hand. As a polytechnician and a former rocket scientist, he now builds PowerZ's AI.

Yoan, an Ecole Normale Supérieure graduate with a PhD in string theory, champions equal access to quality education for all children. He loves discussing the intricacies of AI and is dedicated to building and strengthening PowerZ’s educational AI.
